The role:
We are seeking an experienced Contracts and Legal Counsel to join our team and play a key role in shaping our business’s legal framework. In this sole charge role, you will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts, developing commercial terms and conditions, and establishing robust intellectual property (IP) management processes.
Reporting to the General Manager – Business Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our business agreements are legally sound, commercially viable, and aligned with our strategic objectives. You will work closely with various departments and external legal partners to provide expert legal advice, mitigate risks, and support the company’s growth and innovation and in time, building your capability to reduce our reliance on external support.
How would you contribute to our success?
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a wide range of contracts, including vendor agreements, client contracts, partnership agreements, and more.
- Developing and implementing commercial terms and conditions that support business objectives and ensures consistency across all agreements.
- Establishing and overseeing intellectual property management processes, including the protection, registration, and enforcement of IP assets.
- Providing legal advice on various business matters, including contract law, IP rights, compliance, and regulatory issues.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure contracts and legal documents meet business needs and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Identifying and mitigating legal risks related to contracts, commercial terms, and IP management.
- Staying up to date with relevant legal developments and ensuring that the company’s practices remain compliant with current laws.
- Assisting in dispute resolution and managing any legal issues that may arise from contractual obligations or IP concerns.
- Preparing and presenting reports on contract performance, legal risks, and IP management to senior management.
What will make your application stand out?
- Your qualification in law, compliance or other related field.
- Your proven experience in a contract’s role, preferably within a corporate or commercial environment.
- Your strong knowledge and application of contract law, commercial terms, and intellectual property management.
- Your excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
- Your ability to develop and implement legal strategies that align with business goals.
- Your attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Your strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and proactive approach to legal issues.
- Your ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making processes.
- Your willingness and ability to develop your broader legal counsel skillset to in tine reduce reliance on external support.
- Experience in either Tech or Healthcare sectors are a plus!
