Rauland Australia and New Zealand has launched the Concentric Care Excellence Program (CCEP), a long-term collaborative initiative to explore, evaluate and advance the use of technology in real-world care environments. Designed to bring together healthcare expertise, frontline experience and technology innovation, the program creates a framework for sharing knowledge, testing new approaches and developing best practices that can support better care outcomes.
Maitland & Kurri Kurri Hospitals, part of the Hunter New England Local Health District, along with Apollo Care Alliance, a national alliance of not-for-profit aged care communities and New Zealand’s Bidwill Trust Hospital, an independent private elective surgical hospital, are the first organisations to join the program. Their participation establishes a new model of collaboration with Rauland, bringing together acute, elective surgery and aged care perspectives to explore real-world challenges and shape technology around the realities of care delivery.
The launch comes at a time when healthcare organisations are navigating increasing complexity across care delivery, workforce pressures, compliance and technology. While digital solutions have an important role to play, technology alone does not solve these challenges. The Concentric Care Excellence Program – for hospitals and aged care providers, has been established to close that gap, creating a closer connection between the technology being developed and the realities of care delivery.
Bringing technology closer to care
“Technology delivers the greatest value when it is shaped by the people who use it every day,” said Jacqueline Leeds, Chief Executive Officer, Rauland Australia and New Zealand. “CCEP creates a genuine partnership between healthcare organisations and Rauland. It brings together the experience of care teams, the insight of healthcare leaders and our technology expertise to understand what works in practice and how we can continue to improve the way care is delivered.”
Rather than viewing technology implementation as the end point, CCEP creates an ongoing partnership between Rauland and participating healthcare organisations. The program will provide opportunities for participating organisations to evaluate solutions in real-world environments, identify opportunities for improvement and measure the impact of new approaches as well as contribute to research, education and knowledge sharing across the CCEP network.
“In a hospital environment, technology needs to support the way teams work, communicate and respond to patients every day,” Maitland & Kurri Kurri Hospitals. “Being part of the Concentric Care Excellence Program gives us an opportunity to share our frontline experience, explore practical approaches and work collaboratively with Rauland to understand how technology can better support our teams and the care they provide. It is about learning from what works in practice and using those insights to continue improving the patient experience.”
“The future of aged care will require more than technology, it will require collaboration, shared learning and a clear understanding of what works in the environments where care is delivered. The Concentric Care Excellence Program gives Apollo Care Alliance an opportunity to work closely with Rauland to explore practical solutions, share our experience and help shape technology around the needs of residents and care teams. We see real value in being part of that conversation,” said Kylie Radburn, Chief Governance Officer – Apollo Care Alliance.
“Excellence in digital health is not achieved through technology alone,” said Tina Rogers, General Manager – Bidwill Trust Hospital. “It comes from understanding the environment in which that technology is used and working alongside the people delivering care. Rauland’s Concentric Care Excellence Program gives us the opportunity to do exactly that – listen, learn and build better solutions together.”
The addition of Maitland & Kurri Kurri Hospitals, Apollo Care Alliance and Bidwill Trust Hospital establishes the foundations of a growing CCEP network across Australia and New Zealand. As the network develops, participating organisations will have opportunities to share challenges, successes and lessons learned, helping turn individual experiences into knowledge that can benefit the broader sector.
